What is the World Cup Prediction Market?
The World Cup Prediction Market is a free-to-play trading competition built into your Tradeify dashboard. You trade on 2026 FIFA World Cup match outcomes using a virtual balance — no real funds are ever at risk. The top performers on the leaderboard share a $250,000 prize pool.
⚠️ Before you enter — the essentials
This is a free-to-play competition using virtual funds only — no real money is ever deposited, traded, or at risk.
You must be 18 or older and complete KYC identity verification before your $2,000 virtual account is issued.
Restricted countries apply — Tradeify's standard restricted list plus an extra tournament-specific list (see "I'm not sure if my country is eligible" at the bottom).
Eligibility
Do I need to own a paid Tradeify account to participate?
No. You can register on the Tradeify site and participate in the World Cup Prediction Tournament at no cost.
Is there an age requirement to participate?
You must be of legal age (18 years or older) and KYC verified to participate in the competition. Once you register, you will need to complete KYC verification before your $2,000 virtual account is issued and you can start trading. Unverified accounts will not receive access to the tournament.
Getting Started
What happens after I register?
Once registered, you land in the Waiting Room. This is a holding page that shows a countdown to the tournament start — Sunday June 28 at 09:00 ET. Your $2,000 virtual balance and stats do not appear yet. From the Waiting Room you can set your display username before trading begins.
Everything goes live the moment Round of 32 kicks off. You do not need to do anything else — just come back on June 28 and start trading.
Can I participate from a mobile device?
Yes. The tournament is accessible from any device — desktop, tablet, or mobile.
Can I have multiple accounts to enter more than once?
No. Only one verified individual per user is allowed. If you attempt to KYC verify under a different email address, the verification will be rejected.
I registered but never received a confirmation — what should I do?
Contact Tradeify support and they will look into it for you.
Can I change my username?
You can edit your display username from the Waiting Room before the tournament starts. Once the Round of 32 kicks off, your username is locked and cannot be changed.
How much virtual balance do I start with?
You start with $2,000 in virtual funds. The balance lands in your account when Phase 1 (Round of 32) opens on June 28 — it is not available before the tournament starts.
Can I get more virtual balance if I run out?
Yes. You have one reset available, which you can use at any point during the first week until the end of Round of 32. After that, no further resets are available. Your overall P&L and leaderboard ranking account for all resets, so use it strategically.
How Trading Works
What am I actually trading?
Each market is a contract on a match outcome. Contracts settle at either $1 (outcome occurs) or $0 (outcome does not occur). You can trade match winners, losers, top scorers, team progression, and more.
How do I read the prices?
The price of a contract reflects the market's real-time probability assessment, shown in cents out of a possible $1. Since every contract settles at either $1 (the outcome happens) or $0 (it doesn't), the price is also exactly what you pay per contract. For example:
Mexico Yes at 56¢: You pay $0.56 per contract. If Mexico wins, each contract settles at $1.00 — so you get back $1.00, for a profit of $0.44 per contract.
Mexico No at 44¢: You pay $0.44 per contract. If Mexico does not win, each contract settles at $1.00 — so you get back $1.00, for a profit of $0.56 per contract.
Prices move in real time as the match progresses and as other traders buy and sell.
How do I place a trade?
Select a match from the Predictions tab, choose your outcome (Yes or No), enter the number of contracts and your preferred order type, then tap Trade. Your estimated cost and potential payout are shown before you confirm.
Is there a minimum or maximum number of contracts I can buy?
The minimum is 1 contract per trade. The maximum depends on your remaining buying power at the time of the trade.
Can I sell before the match ends?
Yes. You can sell your position at any time while the market is open. If the price moves in your favor, you can lock in profit without waiting for the final result. Go to the Trading Activity tab and find your open position to sell.
Are there trading hours?
Once a market opens, you can buy and sell contracts at any time — before the match starts, during the match, and up until the match ends.
What currency are the virtual funds in?
All virtual funds and contract prices are denominated in USD.
What is the maximum return on a contract?
Returns are capped at $1 per contract. A contract can never settle above $1 regardless of how the match unfolds. The best-case scenario is buying a contract at $0.01 and having it settle at $1.
What order types are available?
You can place a limit order (set your own price — may qualify for reduced fees) or a market order (fills immediately at the current price, carries a small taker fee).
What markets are available?
Markets cover the full knockout stage starting from the Round of 32. Group stage markets are not available in this competition. You can browse Games, Props, and Events from the Predictions tab.
What happens if a match goes to extra time or penalties?
3-way markets settle based on the result after 90 minutes plus stoppage time only. Extra time and penalties are not included. For example, if a match ends 1-1 after 90 minutes + stoppage time, only the Draw Yes contract wins — a bet on either team winning is lost regardless of who advances in extra time or penalties.
What happens if a match is delayed or postponed?
If a match is delayed but still takes place within the date specified in the market rules, it will resolve normally once the game happens. If the match is postponed beyond that date, it is treated as cancelled and the market may resolve as a 50-50 outcome. Always check the specific market rules for how delays and postponements are handled for that market.
Scoring & Leaderboard
How are points calculated?
Points are based on your overall P&L across all trades. The leaderboard is ranked by total points, not just win rate or balance.
Is the leaderboard global?
The leaderboard is split by country. You compete against traders from your region for country rankings. The top 500 traders overall earn cash prizes or Select eval accounts, and every participant receives a one-time 50% coupon regardless of rank.
How often does the leaderboard refresh?
The leaderboard updates once after each game is finished.
Can I see my rank within my country separately from the global rank?
Yes. Use the country dropdown on the leaderboard to filter by your country and see your regional ranking separately from the global standings.
Power Plays
What are Power Plays?
You have 5 Power Play trades available for the entire competition. Using a Power Play on a trade applies a multiplier boost to the points earned from that trade. The multiplier increases at each stage:
Quarterfinals: 1.25x
Semifinals: 1.5x
Final: 2x
Can I use more than one Power Play on the same trade?
No. You can only use one Power Play per trade. When you click the Power Play button, it activates automatically and applies to the next trade you place.
What happens if I use a Power Play during Round of 32 or Round of 16?
You have 5 Power Plays for the entire tournament and can use them at your own discretion. However, keep in mind that multipliers only activate from the Quarterfinals onward — using a Power Play in the earlier rounds will not boost your points. They cannot be recovered once used.
Does a Power Play affect both sides if I'm hedging?
No. A Power Play applies to a single trade only. If you are hedging and want to boost both sides, you would need to use two separate Power Plays — one for each trade.
When should I use Power Plays?
The Use Power Play button is available from your very first trade. However, the multiplier boost only activates from the Quarterfinals onward — using a Power Play during the Round of 32 or Round of 16 will not apply any multiplier. Power Plays cannot be recovered once used, so save them for your highest-confidence trades at the later stages where the multipliers are biggest.

How are prizes paid?
Cash prizes are paid via Rise, the same payout method used across all Tradeify competitions. Once the tournament ends and final leaderboard positions are confirmed, you will be able to request your payout directly from your dashboard. If you do not have a Rise account, we will send you an invite to set one up. KYC verification is required to receive any cash prize or eval account.
What happens if two traders finish with the same P&L?
Tiebreakers are resolved by win rate. The trader with the higher win rate across all settled trades takes the higher position.
What is a Select eval account?
The Select evaluation account is Tradeify's newest evaluation offering. It combines a unified evaluation process with flexible funded account options. Everyone starts with the same evaluation rules, and after passing you choose between two payout policies — a 5-Day Payout Policy for traditional milestone-based withdrawals, or a Daily Payout Policy for faster daily access to profits. Select accounts have no daily loss limit during the evaluation phase. You can find full details at https://help.tradeify.co/en/articles/12853921-select-evaluation-accounts

Is there a Discord or community channel for the tournament?
Yes. The following channels are available on the Tradeify Discord:

Where can I follow official tournament announcements?
All official announcements are posted in the world-cup-announcements channel on the Tradeify Discord.
Troubleshooting
Why can't I reset my account?
There are two possible reasons. First, resets are only available during the Round of 32 — once that round ends, the reset option is no longer available. Second, each participant is allowed one reset for the entire tournament. If you have already used yours, no further resets can be issued.
I tried to register but it says I am not eligible. Why is that?
This is most likely due to your country of residence. The World Cup Prediction Tournament has an extended restricted countries list on top of Tradeify's standard restrictions. Please check if your country appears on either list — if it does, you are not eligible to participate in this tournament.
I registered successfully but my account was not granted. Why is that?
This is most commonly due to incomplete KYC verification. Please confirm your KYC verification is fully completed — once approved, your virtual trading account will be granted automatically.
My limit order didn't fill.
Limit orders only fill when another trader is willing to match your price. Try adjusting your price closer to the current market rate, or switch to a market order for immediate execution.
A market I wanted isn't available.
Markets only open for the knockout stage (Round of 32 onward). Group stage markets are not available in this competition.
I'm not sure if my country is eligible.
Eligibility is governed by two separate restrictions.
First, Tradeify's standard restricted countries list applies to all purchases and products. You can find that list here: https://help.tradeify.co/en/articles/10495888-rules-restricted-countries
Second, the following countries are additionally restricted from participating in the World Cup Prediction Market tournament specifically, even if they are not on the standard list:
Argentina
Australia
Brazil
China
France
Hong Kong
Israel
Singapore
Spain
Switzerland
Thailand
United Arab Emirates
If your country does not appear on either list, you are eligible to participate. If you are unsure, contact Tradeify support for clarification.
