This walkthrough follows the Premier Trading League from registration through to your first match, one step at a time. Each step tells you what to do, and where a screenshot exists it shows what you should be seeing at that point. For the full rules — scoring, teams, the cut, resets and the prize breakdown — see the Premier Trading League — Full Competition Guide.
Step 1 — Register
Head to the PTL registration page from Tuesday 8 September at 12:00 PM ET and sign up. Registration is free and takes a couple of minutes. Remember: one entry per person, one per household, and you must be KYC verified.

Step 2 — Set your username
Set your display username when you register. You compete under that name on the leaderboard and your real name is never shown. Once confirmed it cannot be changed, so choose carefully.

Step 3 — Pick your team
Team selection opens in the Waiting Room the day before the league starts — 20 September for Open 1. Pick one of the 16 creator teams. This step is mandatory: picking a team is how you leave the Waiting Room, and you cannot place a single trade until you have chosen.

Step 4 — You land in the Waiting Room
After registering, your Tradeify dashboard drops you into the Waiting Room. This is home base until the league starts — you will see a countdown to trading opening on Monday 21 September at 6:00 PM ET.

Step 5 — Your first match opens
Match 1 opens Monday 21 September at 6:00 PM ET (the session runs through Tuesday 22 September, closing at 4:45 PM ET). You are paired with one random opponent from the whole field, and you both start on a fresh $50,000 simulated account on Tradovate.
A match at session open — your fresh $50,000 account and your opponent for this session.
Step 6 — Trade the session
Trade ES, NQ, GC or CL — or their micro equivalents (MES, MNQ, MGC, MCL). Position size is capped at one mini or ten micros across your whole account — one position, one product at a time; Tradovate simply rejects anything over the limit. There is no drawdown limit, and you cannot fail the account. Your opponent's P&L is visible during the match but refreshes only twice a day, so treat it as a checkpoint rather than a live feed.

Step 7 — The session closes
At 4:45 PM ET on match day, the system automatically closes any open position at market price — you never need to flatten yourself. Whatever the account shows at close is your result for the match.
Step 8 — Check the leaderboard
Your points land on the leaderboard: +3 for winning the head-to-head, +1 each for a draw (within $50), +1 per $500 of profit (capped at +20 per match), and −1 per $500 of loss with no cap. The leaderboard refreshes twice a day at 8:00 AM and 2:00 PM ET, and ties break on matchup wins, then total P&L, then biggest single match.
Step 9 — If you need a reset
Had a disaster session? You get one reset per league: a single-match reset ($25) that removes one match from your record, or a full reset ($50) back to zero — full resets only exist in Matches 1–3. Resets work in Matches 1–3 and 5–7 only, never Match 4 or 8, and if you use one you must score points in Match 4 to survive the cut. Fees are non-refundable.
Step 10 — Survive Cut Day, then race for the final
After Match 4 (Thursday 1 October for Open 1), the bottom half of the field is relegated. Survive, and Matches 5–8 are your run at the top 500 cash prizes — and the top 4 seats at the Grand Final in Fort Lauderdale on 11 December.
