WealthCharts Risk & Account Settings

Complete guide to account monitoring, risk management, and contract rollovers in WealthCharts. Learn how to use Broker Portfolio, Liquidation Indicator, User Set Risk, and manage contract rollovers.

This guide covers account monitoring and risk management in WealthCharts, including the Broker Portfolio, Liquidation Indicator, User Set Risk parameters, and contract rollover procedures.

Broker Portfolio

The Broker Portfolio panel provides a comprehensive view of your trading accounts. Access it from the toolbar or Main Menu. It contains four tabs:

Open Positions Tab

Displays all currently open positions across your accounts:

  • Symbol and contract name

  • Quantity and direction (long/short)

  • Cost basis (average entry price)

  • Current market price

  • Unrealized P&L

Orders Tab

Shows all working and completed orders:

  • Order type (market, limit, stop)

  • Status (working, filled, cancelled, rejected)

  • Fill prices and quantities

  • Time of execution

Trades Tab

Lists past trades with detailed P&L breakdown, including entry and exit prices, trade duration, and realized profit or loss for each trade.

Accounts Tab

Displays key account metrics for all connected accounts:

  • Balance - Current account balance

  • Max Balance - Highest balance reached (high-water mark)

  • Net Liquidity - Balance including unrealized P&L from open positions

  • Liquidation Threshold - The trailing drawdown level where auto-liquidation occurs

  • Drawdown - Distance between current net liquidity and liquidation threshold

  • Daily P&L - Profit or loss for the current trading day

Liquidation Indicator

The Liquidation Indicator is a visual overlay that displays your trailing drawdown threshold directly on the chart. It shows a horizontal line at the price level where your account would be auto-liquidated, making it easy to see how much room you have before hitting the drawdown limit.

To enable the Liquidation Indicator, open Configure Chart or the Indicators menu and search for "Liquidation Indicator." Add it to your chart and it will display in real time as your drawdown threshold changes.

User Set Risk

Configuring Risk Parameters

WealthCharts allows you to set personal risk controls on a per-account basis. These are in addition to Tradeify's account-level risk rules (Daily Loss Limit and Max Trailing Drawdown).

To configure risk settings:

  1. Open Broker Portfolio and go to the Accounts tab

  2. Click the pencil/edit icon next to the account you want to configure

  3. Set your desired risk parameters (max daily loss, max position size, etc.)

  4. Save your settings

Suspended Account Behavior

If your User Set Risk triggers and suspends trading, your risk settings can still be modified. The suspension is lifted automatically at the start of the next trading session. You can adjust your risk parameters while the account is suspended to prevent the same trigger from occurring again.

Contract Rollovers

Futures contracts expire on specific dates and must be rolled over to the next active contract. If you are trading front-month contracts (e.g., ESH5), you need to switch to the new front-month contract before the current one expires.

To manage contract rollovers in WealthCharts:

  • Identifying expiring contracts - Check the CME contract calendar for your instrument to know when the current contract expires. Volume will shift to the new front-month contract several days before expiration.

  • Switching contracts - Update the symbol in your charts and DOM to the new front-month contract (e.g., from ESH5 to ESM5)

  • Using continuous contracts - If you trade using continuous contracts (e.g., ES1), the rollover happens automatically and no action is needed

Risk Management Best Practices

  • Always use stop-loss orders - Protect every position with a stop to limit downside risk

  • Use bracket orders - Automate your exits by setting take-profit and stop-loss levels on every trade

  • Monitor the Liquidation Indicator - Keep an eye on your drawdown distance to avoid unexpected account breaches

  • Understand Tradeify rules - Your account is subject to Daily Loss Limit (DLL) and Max Trailing Drawdown rules. Hitting either limit will restrict trading or breach your account.

  • Set User Risk parameters - Configure personal risk limits as an additional safety layer on top of Tradeify's account-level rules
